American Horror Story Season 13 Teases Avengers-Level Crossover

At least where American Horror Story is concerned, 13 looks like a lucky number. FX has released an official trailer for season 13 of its anthology horror show. The footage teases returning cast members reprising multiple roles from the series past to face an ultimate evil. American Horror Story: 13 premieres on Sept. 24 and consists of 13 episodes.

One of the biggest draws of the upcoming season is the return of Jessica Lange. The actress used to star in the series, but has not appeared since season 8, when she made only a cameo. Season 13 brings her back as the trailer teases her reprising roles from the first four seasons of American Horror Story. She joins series regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, who also reprise multiple past roles.

The cast features many more returning faces, from Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett to Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd. A particular standout is Paul Anthony Kelly, fresh from Ryan Murphy’s recent Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Murphy is the creator of American Horror Story.

What is American Horror Story season 13 about?

The upcoming season centers around the witches from American Horror Story: Coven. Some of that season’s cast previously returned in season 8. Sarah Paulson plays Cordelia Goode, who warns that she senses a harbinger of the coven doom, though what exactly that entails remains unknown.

The coven appears to fight against members of the American Horror Story: Hotel cast as Evan Peters plays March, who states that it is witch hunting season. With actors taking on multiple roles at once, the trailer can be difficult to parse, though that is not uncommon for American Horror Story.
