The initial wave of price increases driven by memory shortages proved milder than analysts anticipated, but another round is on the horizon.
Information from GPU distributors indicates AMD is planning to raise Radeon graphics card prices at the end of 2025. According to Tom’s Hardware, the adjustment will amount to $10 for every 8 GB of video memory.
This means the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB would climb from $299 to $309, while the 16 GB variant would move from $349 to $369. Mid- and high-tier models, including the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, are expected to increase by $20, setting their new suggested retail prices at $569 and $619, respectively.
Earlier reports on the Chinese Board Channels forum predicted a steeper rise—$20 for 8 GB models and $40 for 16 GB ones. The actual adjustment, however, was exactly half as large. Tom’s Hardware notes AMD revised the pricing to avoid market shocks and to stay competitive with NVIDIA and Intel.
Still, this is only the first phase. A further wave of increases is anticipated in January 2026, and early estimates suggest it could be significantly larger—about $42 for each 8 GB of video memory.
