Aly & AJ Scrap Fall Tour Dates as Aly Michalka Prepares for Broadway Debut in ‘& Juliet’

Acclaimed musical duo Aly & AJ have announced the cancellation of their upcoming late-fall concert run following a monumental career milestone: Aly Michalka is heading to the Great White Way.

In a heartfelt statement published via social media, the sisters revealed that their planned live performances—originally scheduled to launch November 28 in Cincinnati and conclude December 19 in Anaheim—will no longer proceed. Michalka has been cast as Anne Hathaway, the wife of William Shakespeare, in the hit Broadway musical & Juliet, an artistic opportunity she described as impossible to decline.

“Regrettably, this transition means we are unable to carry out our November and December itinerary as initially organized,” the announcement conveyed. “We extend our sincerest apologies to everyone who planned to attend. We were equally eager to perform, and we hold immense appreciation for the time, financial investment, and logistical planning required to join us on tour.”

The revised schedule impacts stops across several major regional hubs, including:

  • Cincinnati, OH
  • Louisville, KY
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Grand Rapids, MI
  • Madison, WI
  • Des Plaines & West Des Moines, IA
  • Columbia, MO
  • Cheyenne, WY
  • Colorado Springs & Fort Collins, CO
  • Albuquerque, NM
  • Tucson, AZ
  • Anaheim, CA

To soften the disappointment for dedicated concertgoers, the pair delivered an unexpected gift: an unreleased live concert album, distributed entirely free of charge for streaming and digital download. The gesture serves as a token of gratitude for their community’s enduring loyalty while the duo shifts focus toward the theatrical stage.

“Because we are unable to share those evenings together in person, we wanted to deliver a piece of the live experience directly to you,” the band shared.

Further details regarding ticket refunds are being handled directly through original points of purchase.
