Box-office takings for the musical “Alice in Wonderland” have surpassed 1 billion rubles, according to data from the EAIS database.
The story follows fifteen-year-old Alice (Anna Peresild), who is drawn into the mysterious Wonderland. There she meets faces that seem familiar—relatives and friends—but none of them recognize her. Alice must undertake a long journey, discover love, avert a catastrophe threatening the realm, and find her way back home.
The cast also includes Miloš Biković, Paulina Andreeva, Irina Gorbacheva, Sergei Burunov, Oleg Savostyuk and others. The film was directed by Yuri Khmelnitsky (Ice 3) and is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic alongside Vladimir Vysotsky’s audio play.
This week the billion-ruble milestone was also reached by “Gorynych,” starring Alexander Petrov.
