Oscar nominee Colman Domingo (known for Sing Sing and Euphoria) will provide the voice of the Cowardly Lion in the fantasy musical “Wicked: Forever”.
“Wicked” serves as an unofficial prequel to The Wizard of Oz. The second installment’s ensemble includes Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum and others. John M. Chu returns to helm the project.
The story follows Elphaba (Erivo), the green-skinned witch who becomes an outcast in Oz because of her supernatural abilities. Forced into hiding from the authorities, she watches as her close friend Glinda (Grande) rises to public acclaim.
“Wicked: Forever” is scheduled for international release on November 21. Domingo is also set to appear soon in the action-thriller “The Running Man”.
