Activision Releases Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Trailer That Unites the Entire Series’ History

The Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise is moving into a new chapter. Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software have released the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 trailer, “The Story So Far”, which walks players through the series’ history and primes them for the upcoming installment.

The trailer’s purpose is to weave earlier Black Ops entries into the new narrative, which culminates with the game’s official release on November 14, 2025.

The footage revisits the franchise’s pivotal moments: Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, Frank Woods, and the events that established the series’ signature psychological and conspiracy-driven tone. Beyond the retrospective, the video hints at the return of Raúl Menéndez, the principal antagonist from Black Ops II, who appears poised to play a central role in the new campaign. The developers promise a substantive link between past and present set against a tense politico-military storyline.

The technical side has evolved as well. Treyarch and Raven Software confirmed enhancements to loadout handling, new animations powered by Omnimovement technology, and more fluid, realistic gunplay. These improvements will be integrated across the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies mode, all available from day one.
