Activision Admits Weak Start for Black Ops 7 and Promises to Start Listening to Players

The publisher also vowed to stop releasing consecutive titles from the same subseries.

Activision published an open letter to Call of Duty fans, expressing gratitude for the community’s feedback and acknowledging the rocky launch of Black Ops 7.

The development team said future content will be guided by player input and pledged to deliver new modes, maps, and weapons.

We will not rest until Black Ops 7 is counted among the finest entries in the Black Ops franchise.

Activision also announced that, moving forward, titles from the same Call of Duty subseries — Black Ops or Modern Warfare — will no longer be released back-to-back.

The first season of Black Ops 7 launched on December 4 and is one of the most expansive in Black Ops history. Next week a double XP event and a free weekend will begin, giving players the chance to try the multiplayer and Zombies modes.
