Ace Combat 7 Becomes the Best-Selling Game in the Franchise

Bandai Namco announced that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown reached 7.5 million copies sold. This achievement makes the title the best-selling game in the history of the franchise.

Released in 2019, the game accounts for nearly 35 percent of the 21.5 million copies sold across the entire series. Customers have bought more than one in every three Ace Combat games since the debut of the franchise.

Previous entries reached lower totals. The original Air Combat sold 2.23 million copies, while Ace Combat 04 reached 2.64 million.

The longevity of the project contributed to these sales. The audience grew steadily after the 2019 release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The port for Nintendo Switch, which arrived in mid-2024, provided a further boost to performance.

Bandai Namco is developing the next entry in the series. The company expects to release Ace Combat 8 by the end of 2026.
