More than 30 years after the release of the original game, series creator Andy Davidson has released a free add-on for Worms: The Director’s Cut on the Amiga.

Worms has received an official free expansion pack more than 30 years after the original game’s launch. The Expansion Pack for Worms: The Director’s Cut on the Amiga was prepared by series creator Andy Davidson himself.

The package includes over 40 new maps from the Amiga community, more than 50 new sound effect sets, and 10 landscape types. Davidson also thanked Jeff Minter of Llamasoft for permission to use a map inspired by his work.

Additional materials have appeared on the Worm.net website, including an album featuring nine remixes of Bjørn Lynne’s theme music and an online tool for creating custom maps, landscapes, environment sets, and teams.

Back in 2024, Davidson announced that he wanted to create an update together with the Amiga demoscene from around the world. The result of this work is the official expansion pack.

The creator also did not rule out a physical collector’s edition. When asked about a boxed version, he replied, “Never say never.”
