Blizzard lastly did it. They lastly introduced official legacy servers for WoW with World of Warcraft Classic. But past a cinematic trailer, they didn’t have a lot to say about what form these vanilla servers would take, or when the choice would launch. It appears we’ll be ready a while for that type of information.
Find out everything we know about Battle for Azeroth, the subsequent WoW enlargement.
WoW recreation director Ion Hazzikostas says “we needed to let the group know that we have heard them. This is one thing that we’re starting to work in direction of, we will rent in direction of it, for those who take a look at our jobs postings you will see some positions. This can be a small, separate group that is targeted on this, so it would not detract from the event of Battle For Azeroth and different core WoW content material.
“Beyond that,” says Hazzikostas, “we’re excited to be doing it, there’ll be a lot more to announce in the future, we’re looking forward to a dialogue with the community to understand what direction to take. People have different visions of what the Classic experience entails and we want to work with them to figure it out. That’s all in the future.”
The most vocal components of the group clamoring for vanilla servers are nostalgic for old-school WoW, however there are definitely different segments of the viewers seeking to test it out. “There’s a wide range, right? There’s a vocal group of folks in the community who actively want this experience. Certainly, we aim to deliver that for them. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of people who never played the original who’d be curious to see what it’s like, but we’ll see how that develops.”
