“Without Blood” Starring Angelina Jolie to Be Released in Russia
Distributor Exponenta (known for the horror film Obsession) has secured the Russian rights to the dramedy Anxious People. The film adaptation of Fredrik Backman’s best-selling novel is scheduled to hit theaters on January 7, 2027.
The star-studded cast includes Angelina Jolie, Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus), Jason Segel (Shrinking), and Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer). The plot follows a bank robber (Wood) who takes a group of open-house attendees hostage. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that each character carries their own poignant backstory and a complex set of personal struggles.
The project is helmed by director Marc Forster (World War Z), with the screenplay adapted by David Magee, known for Life of Pi. Notably, Netflix previously released a miniseries adaptation of the novel in 2021.
Additionally, Exponenta has announced the release of another awards-season contender, the thriller The Bunker, featuring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, which is slated for release on December 10, 2026.
