According to reports from VideoCardz, NVIDIA is slated to officially unveil DLSS 4.5 on January 6, marking the next major milestone in the evolution of its DLSS 4 ecosystem.

This update centers on optimizing Super Resolution and debuting the Dynamic Multi Frame Generation mode. By employing a second-generation transformer model, NVIDIA aims to deliver a substantial upgrade in visual fidelity, characterized by superior temporal stability, more refined anti-aliasing, and a noticeable reduction in the ghosting artifacts that have persisted in earlier iterations.

The defining breakthrough of DLSS 4.5 is its dynamic frame generation capability. Moving away from rigid, fixed multipliers, this technology can scale performance to achieve anywhere from 3x to 6x the original frame rate, depending on hardware overhead and user settings. Tailored for ultra-high-performance displays, including 240Hz monitors, the feature allows gamers to establish a target FPS via the NVIDIA App, while the system intelligently adjusts frame generation in real-time to ensure seamless motion fluidity.

Regarding hardware compatibility, the rollout is tiered. DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution will be accessible to all RTX users across the 20, 30, 40, and 50-series lineups. However, the cutting-edge Dynamic 6x Frame Generation will remain an exclusive feature for the RTX 50 series. While core DLSS 4.5 support will arrive on launch day through the NVIDIA App, the specialized six-fold frame generation functionality is expected to debut in the spring of 2026.
