Phantom Blade Zero Surpasses 400,000 Players on Steam
According to analysts, the Chinese action game from S-Game may have sold over one million copies in its first few days.
Phantom Blade Zero drew more than 400,000 concurrent players on Steam within its first hours after launch on PS5 and PC. The developers released a day-one patch and warned players about NVIDIA driver issues.
Before release, Alinea Analytics estimated sales for the game at approximately 850,000 copies on Steam and PS5. After the publication of initial reviews, about 80,000 more copies were sold, and factoring in Chinese storefronts Tencent and WeGame, total sales may have exceeded one million.
Players from Asia drove the success. Preliminary estimates show that China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong accounted for 62.5% of sales. For comparison, Black Myth: Wukong sold more than 30 million copies.

The launch update, sized at around 5 GB, improves ray tracing and path tracing performance while fixing bugs. Soulframe Director and Producer Liang specifically warned about problems with the NVIDIA 621.01 driver and recommended version 617.42. Players experiencing crashes are advised to roll back to the previous driver or wait for an update.
