Will Kassandra from AC Odyssey Return? Developers Added an Easter Egg in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Ubisoft still has plans for the heroine.
The team behind Assassin’s Creed Shadows not only revealed a crossover with Attack on Titan, but also reminded players about a heroine from an earlier installment of the franchise.
Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has resurfaced — she appears in the game as an easter-egg statue.
Simon Lemaire-Comtois, assistant game director on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, told the host of the JorRaptor YouTube channel:
We really wanted to include Kassandra in the game. And yes — according to the lore, at this point she’s essentially immortal and could plausibly have appeared in Japan, so we decided to connect those dots. Without revealing too much, I’ll say we crafted a backstory for when she traveled to Japan. What did she do there? Clearly, she did far more than simply leave some items in a cave.
The developer also hinted that Kassandra arrived on her own. Even so — like in AC Odyssey — she effectively has a ship and a crew behind her.
Details remain scarce for now, but the developers say they have a plan:
We have an explanation for why a statue of Kassandra ended up in that cave — it’s a statue she bought herself. We may reveal the details later. Everything was planned; we didn’t just drop Kassandra in there without reason. And this won’t be the last Isu (the Forerunners) content to appear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
