Mortal Kombat 2 is a relentless adrenaline rush, featuring Karl Urban as humanity’s champion in a high-stakes, interdimensional martial arts tournament. While the 2021 predecessor largely bypassed the iconic tournament itself, this installment leans heavily into fan-favorite fighters and imaginative battle sequences pulled straight from the source material. If you’re eager to experience the carnage and iconic fatalities in the comfort of your home—where bellowing “Finish him!” at the television is perfectly acceptable—you are likely curious about its streaming and digital release timeline. Here is our informed projection on when this brutal sequel will arrive for home viewing.

Given that the 2021 Mortal Kombat was subject to a condensed theatrical window due to the pandemic, we are looking at more recent Warner Bros. releases for a clearer trend. The horror-comedy They Will Kill You arrived on VOD roughly one month after its late-March debut. Similarly, The Conjuring: Last Rites transitioned to digital platforms about a month after its theatrical premiere in late 2025. Following this pattern, expect Mortal Kombat 2 to land on digital storefronts by early June.
Physical media collectors should look toward July for a potential release. The Conjuring: Last Rites hit shelves about two months post-theatrical, while They Will Kill You is slated for a June 30 physical debut, also roughly three months after its theatrical run. You can anticipate Mortal Kombat 2 to follow a similar schedule, likely arriving with a collection of special features in mid-to-late summer.
HBO Max will be the exclusive streaming home for Mortal Kombat 2. Based on recent New Line Cinema releases like Weapons and The Conjuring: Last Rites, which typically arrive on the platform within three months of their theatrical debuts, we predict a late-July streaming premiere for the film.
In the market for more gaming-inspired cinema while you wait? Consider checking out The Super Mario Galaxy Movie or the haunting, atmospheric thriller Exit 8.
