Harry Styles Reimagines His High-Fashion Aesthetic for the Common Man in Hilarious ‘SNL’ Sketch
Pop phenomenon Harry Styles brought his signature avant-garde flair to the masses in a standout sketch during his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. Taking on double duty as both host and musical guest for the March 14 broadcast, the superstar starred in a satirical commercial titled “Harry for Him,” pitching a fictional, budget-friendly fashion collaboration with Target.
“For years, my bold sartorial choices have sparked conversations, and I’ve been approached by countless women who lament their husbands’ boring wardrobes,” Styles quips at the start of the bit. “They want that same magic. Well, now they can have it. I’ve partnered with Target to translate my most extraordinary looks for the everyday man—at a price he can actually afford. I pulled these looks off, and now, so can you.”
The segment features SNL cast members Ben Marshall, James Austin Johnson, Andrew Dismukes, Mikey Day, Kam Patterson, Marcello Hernández, and Kenan Thompson attempting to pull off Styles’ most eccentric and polarizing ensembles. While the singer radiates effortless confidence, the “ordinary men” find the transition to high fashion significantly more challenging.
“I’m just not convinced. When you see a side-by-side comparison, the answer is a resounding no,” Marshall admits, looking visibly uncomfortable while squeezed into the checkered rainbow jumpsuit Styles famously wore at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
James Austin Johnson takes a swing at the iconic 2019 Met Gala look, featuring a sheer, ruffled lace blouse and a single pearl earring. “When Harry wore this, his fans saw the pinnacle of elegant masculinity,” the comedian notes. “When I wore it, my wife told me I looked like a Victorian ghost who haunts a craft store.”
Styles remains undeterred, reassuring his models that the line also features “approachable” pieces, such as the flamboyant sequined jumpsuit from his 2022 Coachella performance. Modeling the shimmering outfit, Andrew Dismukes notes the discrepancy in reception: “When he wore this on stage, the world cheered. When I wore it to my son’s middle school basketball game, I was asked to leave the gymnasium immediately.”
The parody continues with a parade of Styles’ most memorable fashion moments, including the Wizard of Oz-inspired Dorothy costume from his 2021 “Harryween” performance at Madison Square Garden.
Beyond the comedic highlights, Styles used his opening monologue to reflect on his recent creative hiatus. He also took to the stage to perform two tracks from his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
