Post Malone says he is close to finishing his next album. In a Thursday (Oct. 15) Instagram post, the singer-rapper shared a selfie in front of a whiteboard that listed song names in color-coded marker. He wrote, “Seasons greetings nerds… Almost done with this sumb—h!!”
“I’m sorry it’s taking so goddamn long… I can’t wait to share this piece of music with y’all,” he continued. “We are so proud of what we’ve made… a s–tload of songs coming!!! I promise next time it won’t take 3 years… I love you so very much. Remember you kick a–!!!!!”
Post Malone hasn’t released an album since 2024’s F-1 Trillion, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and became his third No. 1 on the chart. A key in the top right corner of the whiteboard says black marks tracks with finished lyrics and vocals. Among the songs written in black are “Chrome Heartbreaker,” “Death of the Bow,” “Call You Back” and “Impossible.” Songs in red have been written but still need vocals. Those are “Doesn’t Exist,” “Memorize,” “Rescue Me,” “Parachute,” “Track Me Down” and “Soulmate.”
Post Malone previously pushed back his Big Ass Tour with Jelly Roll by a few weeks so he could finish his next album, which is expected to be titled The Eternal Buzz. He has spent the past few years exploring Western and country sounds, but he has hinted that the new project might return to his hip-hop roots.
“That one mofo that don’t know when to leave,” he wrote over a clip that previews a snippet of a song similar in style to tracks on his albums beerbongs & bentleys and Hollywood’s Bleeding.
