Warhammer 40,000 creators reveal miniatures of Berek Stornbrow, the “Double Spear,” and a whip-wielding Tyranid Prime

Games Workshop unveiled new hero miniatures for Warhammer 40,000 designed to appeal to followers of the Legio Votann, the Tyranids, and the T’au Empire. The company also announced a book collection titled “The Horus Heresy: The Saga.”

At the World Championships Warhammer Preview Live! 2025 event, Warhammer 40,000 enthusiasts were given a first look at several hero miniatures that are not expected to reach stores any time soon.

Games Workshop will release a miniature of Berek Stornbrow from the Legio Votann. A legendary warrior born from the chthonic berserker ranks, he boasts thick, rugged skin and sophisticated augmentations that let him confront and defeat the most lethal adversaries. Berek carries an unusual artifact-weapon that fuses plasma, mass, and impact technologies.

Supporters of the T’au Empire will be able to obtain the “Twin Spear” set — named for two Warrior battlesuit pilots, Sanser and Scatterflare. They wield neocapacitor shields that absorb incoming energy and then discharge it in a devastating shockwave.

Players who have bonded with the Hive Mind can acquire a Tyranid Prime equipped with a lash-whip. Its biological armaments are fitted with barbed spikes able to incapacitate opponents.

In addition, Black Library announced “The Horus Heresy: The Saga,” a 12-volume collection that includes: “Horus Rising,” “False Gods,” “A Galaxy in Flames,” “The Flight of the Eisenstein,” “Fulgrim,” “The First Heretic,” “The Burning of Prospero,” “Know No Fear,” “The Betrayer,” “Praetorian of Dorn,” “Master of Mankind,” and “Slaves to Darkness.”

The collection is aimed at readers who don’t want to wade through 54 novels and countless short stories to get to know the Age of Darkness. Each volume in the saga will feature new cover art by Neil Roberts.
