Trailer for Fish Drawing Game Unexpectedly Moves Viewers to Tears
The release date trailer for Drawquarium has turned out to be an unexpectedly touching short film about art, children’s creativity, and the impact of AI on artists. The game focuses on creating custom fish and aquariums.
Drawquarium looks like a standard cozy game where users draw fish, transfer them to an aquarium, feed them, and care for them. However, the trailer announcing the release date proves much deeper. Over the course of three minutes, it shows how childhood curiosity and a love for creating art gradually give way to responsibilities and disappointment. Another central theme is the proliferation of AI art and how it can discourage aspiring artists from pursuing creativity. The story concludes with an optimistic message that people should create simply for the joy of the process itself.
Drawquarium serves as the debut game for developer Caleb, who is known on Steam as byKaleb.
I am actually a 3D artist working in the film industry, and about a year and a half ago I had a small idea: what if I could bring my kids’ drawings to life?
Players can set their own aquarium as a desktop wallpaper and watch the fish swim around. The game launches on November 13, 2026, and a demo is available now.
