Free-to-Play Monster Hunter Outlanders Released for Mobile Devices
A new project brings classic Monster Hunter gameplay to mobile devices.
TiMi Studio Group has released Monster Hunter Outlanders, a free-to-play mobile spin-off for iOS and Android.
The game takes place in the Esoland region, where the ecosystem alters familiar monsters and grants them new traits. Players must explore the surroundings, hunt massive beasts solo or with friends in teams of up to four people, gather materials, and craft gear for future excursions.
Seven familiar weapon types are available at launch: great sword, long sword, dual blades, hammer, lance, heavy bowgun, and bow. The developers promise to expand the arsenal and add new features over time.
The controls have been adapted for touchscreens with classic and simplified modes. Gamepad support is also available, though controllers can currently only be used for hunting, exploring the world, and completing quests. The developers promise to extend compatibility to the remaining elements of the game in the future.
