This week’s New Music Friday is defined by a series of high-profile artistic evolutions and long-awaited revivals from some of the industry’s biggest names.

Kacey Musgraves Teases ‘Middle of Nowhere’

Leading the charge is Kacey Musgraves, who unveiled “Dry Spell,” the provocative lead single from her forthcoming studio album, Middle of Nowhere. This marks her first major project since the Grammy-winning success of 2024’s Deeper Well. Scheduled for a May 1 release through the iconic Lost Highway Records, the 13-track collection promises a rich tapestry of collaborations, including guest spots from Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov.

The Pussycat Dolls Launch Global Comeback

The Pussycat Dolls have officially reclaimed the spotlight with “Club Song,” their first original release in six years. The single serves as the opening salvo for their newly announced “PCD Forever” world tour, a massive 50-date arena run spanning North America, Europe, and the U.K. While original members Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts are confirmed for the trek—joined by special guests Lil’ Kim and Mýa—founding members Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, and Carmit Bachar will not be participating in this reunion.

Jack Harlow’s R&B Pivot

In a move that caught many by surprise, Jack Harlow has pivoted from his established rap flow to a soulful vocal style on his new album, Monica. Following his 2023 release Jackman, the Louisville artist spent time at New York’s legendary Electric Lady Studios to craft nine tracks that lean heavily into tender, Soulquarian-inspired R&B crooning rather than traditional hip-hop bars.

Notable Singles and Full-Length Debuts

The release radar is packed with diverse talent this week. Noah Kahan continues his momentum with “Porch Light,” while Luke Combs explores new ground in “I Ain’t No Cowboy.” Other essential listens include:

  • 50 Cent & Leon Thomas: “No One Told Us”
  • Lainey Wilson: “Can’t Sit Still”
  • Kenya Grace: “Naked”
  • Vybz Kartel & Shenseea: “Talk to Me Nuh”

On the album front, James Blake shared the immersive Trying Times, and Charlie Puth—fresh off his Super Bowl national anthem performance—released Whatever’s Clever. LANY also treated fans to an expanded edition of their latest work with Soft 2, while R&B standout Leven Kali arrived with his new project, LK99.
