Venom Animated Movie Still in Development

Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal has confirmed to the press that an animated feature film centered on the antihero Venom remains in active development.

News of the project first surfaced in February of this year. Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the duo behind “Final Destination 6,” are currently attached to direct. It is anticipated that Tom Hardy, who portrayed the character in the live-action trilogy, will also lend his talents to the production.

While Pascal did not provide specific plot details or a release window, the “Venom” film series has proven to be a massive commercial success. The original 2018 film, followed by its sequels in 2021 and 2024, collectively grossed $1.7 billion at the global box office. Although Hardy has previously hinted at a potential crossover with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, no official project featuring both characters has been confirmed.
