Valve released a gameplay update for Deadlock amid the closure of Highguard — mechanics and heroes changed
While recent competitors struggle to find their footing, Valve’s latest project continues to flourish through constant evolution.
Valve has kicked off March by deploying a massive update for Deadlock, introducing a sweeping array of changes to gameplay systems, character balancing, and itemization.
- Players now have the ability to execute jumps while sliding, adding more fluidity to movement.
- The health of Shrines has been recalibrated: the primary Shrine is now easier to dismantle at 5,000 HP, while the secondary Shrine has been buffed to 10,000 HP.
- Eliminating a set of Base Guardians now spawns a “rail creep wave” that moves with increased speed, designed to bolster your team’s offensive momentum.
The map has been expanded with new neutral monster camps, and the Mid Boss has seen its health pool increased from 11,900 to 13,000. Additionally, the rewards for taking down bosses and other key objectives have been significantly enhanced.
A new item called the Golden Goose Egg has been introduced, alongside a comprehensive rebalancing pass for the existing arsenal and the hero roster.
