V Enters His Beyoncé ‘Cowboy Carter’ Era as BTS Tour Hits Texas: ‘Mucho Picante’

V of BTS is embracing the spirit of the Lone Star State, drawing inspiration from one of Texas’ most iconic musical exports: Beyoncé.

On Tuesday, May 5—shortly after wrapping up two high-energy concerts in El Paso—the South Korean superstar took to his Instagram Stories. Sharing a mirror selfie while sporting a cowboy hat, V set the mood with Queen Bey’s chart-topping anthem, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” referencing the track’s memorable lyrics.

Beyond his Instagram Story, V offered a glimpse into his life on the road through a new social media gallery. The carousel includes a playful video of him navigating a golf cart around a stadium with his bandmates, alongside a snapshot documenting a local culinary adventure. Judging by the spread of barbecue favorites—onion rings, mac and cheese, and coleslaw—he was fully immersed in the local culture. “Mucho picante,” he noted in his caption, expressing a fondness for the spicy flavors.

The group’s recent back-to-back shows at El Paso’s Sun Bowl on May 2 and 3 marked a pivotal stop in their tour supporting their latest Billboard 200 chart-topper, ARIRANG. After launching the trek in South Korea and making stops in Tokyo and Tampa, Florida, the tour is in full swing.

Looking ahead, the band is heading further south for a three-night stint in Mexico City. Fans can expect to see V, along with RM, j-hope, Jin, Jimin, Jung Kook, and SUGA, performing across the globe through the remainder of this year and into early 2027, with the final curtain call scheduled for March in the Philippines.
