Standing as a titan of the 2025 cinematic landscape, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is poised to lengthen its theatrical tenure. Following its monumental debut on Japanese IMAX screens, the film will now expand into the highly immersive ScreenX and 4DX formats. Launching February 20 across participating theaters in Japan, this update marks the first time in the franchise’s history that fans can experience the series through multi-screen and sensory-enhanced technology.

The ScreenX format utilizes a 270-degree panoramic system, projecting imagery onto the side walls of the theater to expand the field of vision during pivotal action sequences. By adopting this technology, Infinity Castle continues its streak of technical milestones, becoming the first anime feature to utilize the three-screen setup after previously setting records as the first anime to receive a traditional IMAX release in its home country.

While these specialized screenings are currently localized to Japan and the Philippines, industry whispers suggest that international markets equipped with ScreenX and 4DX may eventually host their own limited runs. For regions lacking these specific theatrical setups, rumors indicate that a standard IMAX re-release could be on the horizon to meet sustained global demand.

Since its initial rollout on July 18, 2025, Infinity Castle has maintained a historic commercial trajectory, generating over 25 billion yen (roughly $174 million) in Japan within its first month alone. After securing domestic dominance, the film transitioned to international markets in mid-August and arrived in North America on September 12, ultimately surpassing $600 million at the worldwide box office. As the opening chapter of a definitive trilogy, the film begins the final adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge’s celebrated manga, originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
