Universal Pictures has become the first major Hollywood studio to surpass the $4 billion mark in global box office receipts for the year 2026.

Of this total, $2.48 billion was generated in international markets, while the North American box office contributed $1.53 billion.

Two titles from the studio’s slate have already crossed the billion-dollar threshold: the animated feature “Super Mario: Galactic Movie” ($1.011 billion) and the biopic “Michael” ($1.016 billion), which Universal distributed internationally while Lionsgate handled the domestic release.

Additional high-performing titles include Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey” ($911 million), the critically acclaimed horror hit “Obsession” by Karri Barker ($474 million, a co-release with Focus Features), and “Minions and Monsters” ($449 million), among others.

Before the calendar year concludes, Universal is set to release the sequel to “Meet the Fockers,” which is expected to serve as another significant box office contender.
