Third Season of “The Pharmacist’s Monologue” Gets Release Date — TOHO Unveils Anniversary Celebration Video
On October 21, the anime “The Pharmacist’s Monologue” marked its second anniversary. TOHO Animation celebrated the milestone with a commemorative video and a slate of new details.
TOHO Animation has announced the release schedule for the third season of “The Pharmacist’s Monologue.” During the livestream held for the series’ second anniversary, the studio revealed that the first cour will premiere in October 2026, while the second cour is slated for April 2027.
The show’s renewal was first confirmed in the summer of 2025, shortly after the second season finale. The creators have now clarified the timetable and confirmed that the third season will be divided into two cours.
Production remains in the hands of TOHO Animation, and original novelist Natsu Hyuga is once again involved. According to studio representatives, the new chapter will continue to probe the courtly intrigues of the Tang era and will reveal fresh facets of the heroine Maomao, famed for her sharp insight and unorthodox healing methods.

In addition to the third season, TOHO announced a feature-length film slated to premiere in Japan in December 2026, with international screenings planned for early 2027. This gives fans something to enjoy while they wait between the two cours.
