The original Mafia is free on Steam, Mafia 4 is in development
On Sunday, August 28, the legendary game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven turned 20 years old. Therefore, we read about (or re-read) special edition of the iconic publication “Shpil!”.
And the very next day, on Monday, the publisher, 2K, released a trailer in which … there was no place for the hero of the day himself. The fact is that all 4 and a half minutes of running time are shown frames from Mafia: Trilogy, that is, the original first game is not there – only a remake. In addition, the video contains a lot of spoilers, so you should not watch it if you have not completed any of the parts of the series.
Also the community was toldthat the game itself will be free on Steam for a limited time. The distribution will begin today, September 1, at 20:00 (Kyiv time) and will last until 20:00 Monday, September 5. Do not forget add to your library!
Besides, in Memorial Day interview developers have opened the veil of secrecy over the future project. Roman Hladík, head of Hangar 13:
I am happy to confirm that we have started working on a completely new part of Mafia. There are still a few years before the specifics, and we can’t talk about anything yet. But we are happy to continue working on the franchise that players love and new stories.
