The Boys Star Cast in Marvel X-Men Movie
Last month at D23, Disney fan convention, Marvel revealed the first confirmed actors and characters for its upcoming X-Men movie. This project introduces fan-favorite X-Men like Cyclops and Storm to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On Thursday, another mutant joined the upcoming reboot: Angel.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed Asa Germann is in final talks to play Warren Worthington III, better known as Angel. Germann is best known for his role as Sam Riordan in Amazon Prime Video The Boys spin-off Gen V and his supporting role in Scream 7. According to the report, Germann previously auditioned for Cyclops and Scott Summers, but that role went to Heartstopper star Kit Connor.
Angel stands as one of the original members of the X-Men alongside Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, and Beast. Jean Grey, played by Sadie Sink, was introduced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There is no word yet on whether Iceman or Beast will appear in the X-Men reboot directed by Jake Schreier.
Angel features a mutation granting large, white, angel-like wings that provide the ability to flight. The character made a big-screen debut in 2006 in X-Men: The Last Stand, played by Ben Foster. In that film, the character’s mutation leads his father to develop the mutant cure that drives the story conflict. A villainous version of Angel appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse, played by Ben Hardy, joining Apocalypse as one of his Horsemen to become Archangel.

X-Men arrives in theaters on May 5, 2028. The cast features Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, Christopher Abbott as Professor X and Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as White Queen and Emma Frost, Inde Navarette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Orroro Munroe, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, and Asa Germann as Angel.
