Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Gets a Surprisingly Positive Early Response
Players who preordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 can already play its single-player campaign, and the first player reviews are positive. The full release is still a few days away.
Last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 received “Mostly Negative” reviews, so some players approached the new entry with skepticism. Those who have played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 have started praising the shooter, and it debuted with “Very Positive” reviews on Steam. After almost 2,000 reviews, the game’s rating stands at 90%. Some community members call the campaign “the best in the series since Modern Warfare (2019).”
In the story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula:
A squad of young South Korean soldiers fights to survive on a collapsing front line. On the other side of the world, a vengeful Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows, staying one step ahead of those hunting him. When Price’s unofficial mission crosses paths with the forces behind the invasion, the war spirals out of control.
The full release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set for October 23, 2026, on PC as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
