The Boys Creator Garth Ennis Adapting Crossed as New Movie

Comment Views: 1

If you thought The Boys creator Garth Ennis was done getting his hands dirty with blood and violence, think again. Ennis and director Rob Jabbaz of The Sadness have teamed up to bring the comic tale Crossed to the silver screen.

A new teaser trailer, exclusively revealed by Bloody Disgusting, is now available on YouTube.

Some comics are unlikely to get an adaptation because the format suits comic books best or because of heavy subject matter. That makes it a surprise when something as depraved as Crossed gets an adaptation.

What is Crossed about?

Crossed six studios

Produced by Los Angeles company Six Studios, Crossed follows a group of strangers as they head north to escape the infected known as the Crossed. Instead of being lumbering zombie-like figures, the Crossed are affected by a mysterious disease that causes a red cross to appear on their foreheads and encourages their worst impulses. The afflicted follow impulses for rape, murder, and other atrocities to sate their pleasure before moving on to the next urge.

Garth Ennis wrote the screenplay based on the original 10-issue run of Crossed. He and Rob Jabbaz are joined by a cast including Devin Druid of 13 Reasons Why and Ash Santos of American Horror Story as Stan and Cindy, who lead the ragtag group of survivors. The cast also features Bob Morley of The 100 as Randall, Steven Hack of Little Death as Geoff, Ethan Jones Romero of Law & Order as Thomas, Chido Nwokocha of Top Gun: Maverick as Kitrick, Spenser Granese of Dope Thief as Brett, Kyla Hee of Psychosis as Kelly, and Ana Mulvoy Ten of American Crime as Sheena. Lorenzo Ross stars as Patrick in his first acting role.

On their journey for survival, the group encounters the leader of the infected. This villain is known as Horsecock and is played by Owen Harn of Cobra Kai.

No release date has been confirmed beyond coming soon.
