Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 to Introduce Secret X01 Weapon Complex to DMZ
New content arrives in the game next week.
The first season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 begins on November 6. The developers shared details about the massive update in an official blog post, outlining new multiplayer maps, a redesigned battle pass, Warzone integration, and a new location in the DMZ mode.
At the start of the season, three maps will launch for multiplayer combat: Backstab, Canyon, and Shoot House. All three are medium-sized arenas designed for 6v6 matches. Shoot House is the only reimagined map among the initial trio.
Mid-season updates will add the Ministry and Overflow maps, along with several additional arenas whose names remain undisclosed. The developers promised to introduce more than six maps overall during the first season.
Another major addition is the new X01 location for DMZ mode. This previously undiscovered weapons complex was recently seized by enemy forces, and operators are now cleared to conduct operations on its grounds.
Ghost will accompany squads during their infiltration of the facility, acting as an operational coordinator. He will guide players deeper into the complex, track routes, warn of new threats, and provide hints about what awaits the squad in unexplored sectors.
With the introduction of X01, DMZ will also add several new pages of operational orders tied to exploring and clearing the complex.
