It is official: Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel have tied the knot.
The 37-year-old frontman of The 1975 and the 28-year-old model and musician exchanged vows this past Saturday, July 18. The couple hosted an elegant, private ceremony at Castillo del Lago in Los Angeles—a historic Spanish Colonial Revival estate formerly owned by Madonna.
The intimate gathering brought together the pair’s inner circle of family and friends. According to reports, the guest list included a glamorous assembly of industry peers, notably Charli xcx and her husband, The 1975 drummer George Daniel. Other notable attendees included Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, and the newly engaged Devon Lee Carlson and Duke Nicholson.
In the lead-up to their walk down the aisle, the couple was spotted in Los Angeles practicing their vows and sharing a romantic rehearsal dip, looking coordinated in matching all-black ensembles.
The wedding festivities were preceded by a high-energy bachelor party for Healy, who embraced the moment by joining a tribute band, 9075, on stage. He delighted fans by belting out “The Sound” alongside a performer mimicking his own stage persona before crowd-surfing during the band’s rendition of “Sex.”
Healy and Bechtel’s romance blossomed in September 2023, with their engagement confirmed in June 2024 when Bechtel showcased a stunning black gemstone ring. At the time, she cheekily captioned her social media announcement, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” paying homage to her friend Charli xcx’s cultural movement.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Healy, whose personal life has long been a subject of public fascination. This celebration follows a path of previous high-profile relationships, including a widely publicized connection with Taylor Swift. Meanwhile, Bechtel brings her own history to the union, having previously dated Levi Dylan.
