Terraria State of the Game: September 2026

The Re-Logic team recently returned from an international trip that began at Gamescom and concluded in China. Meanwhile, the rest of the development team finalized Crossplay Phase One alongside remaining bug fixes from version 1.4.5.8. Crossplay Phase One is expected to be submitted soon.

Console and Mobile versions are now fully caught up with PC development. Re-Logic is preparing to submit Crossplay Phase One for platform review. Development on Phase Two will follow as quickly as possible, with potential updates planned between the two phases.

Re-Logic staff attended the TapTap Game Fest 2026 in Shanghai, marking the team’s first formal fan event since 2011. The developers hosted two on-stage panels and met with attendees at the Terraria booth.

The monthly tModLoader update for version 1.4.4 releases on October 1st and focuses primarily on bug fixes.
The tModLoader team spent the past month adapting the 1.4.5 preview branch to incorporate changes from version 1.4.5.8 hotfixes. Modders and users can test the current build by joining the “1.4.5-dev” beta branch on Steam, which requires significant community code contributions and testing. Detailed instructions and remaining tasks are listed on the 1.4.5 Update Information page. A complete list of bug fixes and API changes will be published in the monthly Steam announcement on October 1st.
Questions and troubleshooting help are available through the tModLoader FAQ on GitHub and the official tModLoader Discord.

The tModLoader Steam Workshop hosts over 10,000 mods, accessible through the in-game mod browser.

Official merchandise is available year-round at the Terraria Store.

Preorders for the 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition have concluded. However, factory manufacturing over-runs mean a small stock of leftover units will be sold until supplies run out. Re-Logic is exploring options to sell specific items, such as the cartridge and bunny pet, separately in the future.

Sanshee has opened preorders for a Dryad Plush and a matching collector’s pin. Additional items are available on the Sanshee Terraria Collection page.
