Terraria 1.4.5 Update Enters Final Stage — Developers Spoil Change to NPC Villager Mechanics

Re-Logic continues to expand gameplay systems and prepare new content.

The Terraria team recently published a new developer log outlining their plans for the game’s future. The launch of the next so-called “final” 1.4.5 update is approaching, and the studio is laying the groundwork for what lies ahead next year — the project’s 15th anniversary.

Re-Logic aims to reach a “content complete” state within the coming weeks; after that milestone the focus will shift to bug fixes and thorough testing.

The developers also shared a spoiler: NPCs will no longer strictly require a house to spawn — if a house hasn’t been built, NPCs will prompt the player accordingly. They added that at night any homeless NPCs will move to a safe location.

A release date for Terraria’s 1.4.5 update has not been announced yet, but the team has indicated the update is in its final stages of development.
