TF2 Patch on October 2, 2020: Megalo and Bloodwater Fixes
Valve released a Team Fortress 2 patch on October 2, 2020, one day after Scream Fortress XII arrived. The update was set to install automatically when players restarted the game.
The patch adjusted the timing of the Static Shock and Veno Shock Unusual effects. Valve added missing styles to the Seared Sorcerer and Eye-See-You, corrected a materials issue with the Handsome Devil, updated or added tournament medals, and refreshed the localization files.
Changes to Megalo and Bloodwater
The update also changed two Halloween maps introduced with Scream Fortress XII:
koth_megaloreceived pumpkin bombs and a fix for a minor out-of-bounds teleporter exploit.pl_bloodwaterreceived corrected textures, brighter ambient lighting, and brighter areas around points A and B. Valve sealed a displacement hole near the BLU spawn skybox and restored pumpkin bomb spawns at points C and D.
Valve issued another, smaller hotfix later in the October 2 patch sequence. That follow-up corrected a model issue with the Handsome Devil, separate from the materials fix listed above.
