Taylor Swift’s ‘Toy Story’ Anthem Shatters Single-Day Streaming Records

Taylor Swift may have composed her latest anthem for Toy Story 5, but the staggering streaming figures the track is generating are anything but child’s play.

On Friday, June 5, the global music icon saw her new single, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” shatter industry benchmarks across major digital platforms. Spotify confirmed the song has become the most-streamed country track by a female artist within a single 24-hour window. Simultaneously, Apple Music reported that it set a new record for the highest first-day streams for any soundtrack release and secured the title of the most-consumed country song of 2026 thus far.

The momentum continued on Amazon Music, where the track achieved the highest daily stream count of any song released this year.

Swift unveiled the song following a week of anticipation regarding her collaboration with the beloved Pixar franchise, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 19. Expressing her lifelong connection to the series, the singer shared on Instagram: “It has always been a dream of mine to write for characters I’ve adored since I was five years old. After viewing an early cut of Toy Story 5, I was instantly inspired and penned this track as soon as I returned home.”

The evocative, nostalgia-drenched ballad was crafted specifically to capture the essence of Jessie, the franchise’s spirited cowgirl, voiced by Joan Cusack. “Working on this felt like a musical homecoming and a bold creative departure simultaneously,” the 14-time Grammy winner reflected. “Writing for Jessie was a unique challenge that somehow felt like second nature.”

“I Knew It, I Knew You” serves as Swift’s inaugural release since the conclusion of The Life of a Showgirl era, which dominated the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks and produced back-to-back chart-toppers with “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite.”

Fans can look forward to the full Toy Story 5 original motion picture soundtrack, which is slated for release in tandem with the film’s global theatrical debut.
