According to a report by GameRant, the Nintendo Switch 2 has amassed more exclusive titles in less than a year on the market than the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X combined.
As of February 26, the Switch 2 library features 11 platform-exclusive projects. In comparison, the PS5 has launched only 9 exclusives over a span of five and a half years, while the Xbox Series S/X has yet to record a single title that cannot be played on other platforms.
Since its debut last June, the Switch 2 has maintained strong sales momentum, particularly in Japan. Despite early skepticism regarding a perceived lack of original content and a reliance on ports, the console’s lineup has proven robust. GameRant’s criteria for exclusivity are strict: any game available on PC is disqualified. Additionally, PS VR2 titles are excluded from the count as they necessitate supplemental hardware.
The Switch 2 exclusive lineup includes:
- Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
- Survival Kids
- Drag x Drive
- Chillin’ by the Fire
- Fast Fusion
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
- Mario Kart World
- Kirby Air Riders
- Donkey Kong Bananza
- Mario Tennis Fever
- Tokyo Scramble
Furthermore, the average Metacritic scores for these Switch 2 exclusives have outpaced those of its competitors. While GameRant acknowledges that the “quantity vs. quality” debate and the nuances of exclusivity remain hot topics among gamers, the data confirms that the Switch 2 is the current leader in delivering unique software during its inaugural year.
