Studio Gold Update | September 2026

Greetings, Generals, Admirals, and Air Chief Marshals!

The Swedish summer has officially drawn to a close, having treated us to a remarkably generous five-week run. Development on the upcoming 1.19.3 patch was already underway beforehand, and our team has spent the past few weeks putting the final polish on it. While release dates are always subject to minor shifts, our current target is to launch the update on September 17.

Patch 1.19.3 marks the culmination of our post-release roadmap for Thunder at our Gates. It introduces an intriguing hidden focus path for Australia, alongside fresh content for late-game Siam and Indonesia. Naturally, the update also packs a comprehensive array of bug fixes and balancing adjustments.

What’s Next for the Expansion?

You may have already caught our recent Romania Dev Corners, and we are eagerly anticipating its imminent release. However, this brings us to an important update: we have made the deliberate choice to postpone our next major expansion. Ordinarily, this is around the time we would begin teasing the future of HoI, but after assessing our current progress, we decided to invest additional time to ensure it meets the highest possible standards of quality. We will keep the Dev Corners rolling in the meantime, and we anticipate kicking off our traditional Dev Diaries earlier than usual this year—likely right after the Romania release.

Quality of Life Enhancements

We are likewise developing a dedicated Quality of Life update designed to minimize repetitive clicking and reduce cognitive fatigue during extended playthroughs. We look forward to showcasing this progress live on stream very soon, with plans to deploy the patch ahead of the next Expansion Pass.

Open Beta Insights

Following our summer Open Beta, we are integrating a selection of those community-tested balance tweaks directly into patch 1.19.3. We are continuing to evaluate player feedback and look forward to introducing further refinements through future War Effort initiatives, Quality of Life patches, and subsequent expansions.

Community Updates

We remain actively engaged with the persistent hacking and griefing challenges affecting segments of our multiplayer community. While a complete resolution may prove difficult, we are fully committed to significantly improving the current multiplayer experience.

As for the Hearts of Iron board game adaptation, we have been closely monitoring the situation, and recent developments are undeniably disappointing. The project appeared to be progressing smoothly until it suddenly hit a wall. Navigating this situation takes time, but discussions regarding potential solutions are actively underway. We hope to share more definitive news before long.
