Seungmin will be adopting a more sedentary role during Stray Kids’ forthcoming scheduled appearances, as the K-pop idol recovers from a recent ankle injury that has curtailed his ability to perform full choreography.

The group’s management, JYP Entertainment, disclosed the situation in an official statement released on Thursday (March 12) via social media. According to the announcement, Seungmin sought medical consultation after experiencing persistent discomfort in his foot. Following a comprehensive examination, physicians identified a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle.

While the injury does not prevent him from walking or engaging in routine daily tasks, medical professionals have stressed that a period of significant rest is vital for a full and speedy recovery. Consequently, Seungmin will temporarily avoid physically demanding activities to focus on his rehabilitation.

As a result of this diagnosis, his participation in the band’s upcoming “STAY in Our Little House” fanmeetings—slated for March 28–29 and April 4–5 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea—will be limited.

“We offer our sincere apologies to the STAYs who were eagerly anticipating Seungmin’s performance,” the agency stated. “Our top priority remains the health of our artists, and we are committed to providing Seungmin with the best possible care to facilitate his recovery.”

Beyond the immediate fan events, Stray Kids has a massive year ahead. The octet—comprising Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.—is set to headline the 2026 Governors Ball in New York City alongside major acts like Lorde and A$AP Rocky. Furthermore, the group is scheduled to take the stage as headliners for Rock in Rio this September.

The group’s global momentum remains undeniable; their latest musical offering, the EP Do It, released in November, debuted at the summit of the Billboard 200. This achievement marked Stray Kids’ eighth career No. 1 on the prestigious chart.
