Steam‑banned horse‑farm horror HORSES launching on other platforms in December

Valve declined to provide an explanation for why it refused to accept the Santa Ragione studio’s project onto its platform.

Italian studio Santa Ragione has announced that its psychological horror HORSES will release on December 2 for PC via the Epic Games Store, GOG, itch.io and the Humble Store. The game will not be available on Steam: according to the developers, Valve has banned the project on the platform without offering a detailed reason.

A mysterious first-person horror that blurs the line between waking life and the darkest reaches of your imagination. Fourteen days, a horse farm, and a handful of rules to follow. You take a break from your studies and spend the summer helping out at a secluded ranch. The air is warm, the horses are calm, and the people are down-to-earth and unpretentious. Each day brings new tasks; the work itself is straightforward, though the purpose behind some chores can feel a little unclear. Occasionally, after a productive day and once the sun has set, there are other pastimes to be found. Over the course of fourteen days you’ll encounter moments that test your obedience, complicity and resolve.
