Spider-Man: Brand New Day Writers Helping Marvel With Doctor Doom and Secret Wars
Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have joined the team working to conclude the Multiverse Saga.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have confirmed that they are helping Marvel Studios with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of the new Spider-Man film, previously let slip their involvement. According to him, McKenna and Sommers worked on the upcoming Avengers films concurrently during production. Now the writers themselves have confirmed this information:
“We can say that we are involved in working on Avengers. We cannot reveal anything more yet. We enjoy collaborating with Marvel, we have developed a relationship with the Russo brothers, and this work is a real pleasure.”
It remains unknown what exact contribution the duo is making to the scripts of both films. Previously, Loki writer Michael Waldron and Infinity War and Endgame co-writer Stephen McFeely worked on the new Avengers films.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026, and one year later Marvel Studios will release Secret Wars, which will conclude the Multiverse Saga.
