Marvel Studios’ superhero blockbuster “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has achieved a historic milestone, raking in $72 million during its Thursday preview screenings in the United States, according to Variety.

This figure marks an unprecedented opening for the franchise, surpassing the $60 million preview record previously held by 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Industry experts anticipate the film could secure a massive $330–380 million in its domestic opening weekend, potentially eclipsing the $357 million debut set by “Endgame.”

Projections suggest that the film will pull in approximately $900 million worldwide by the end of its opening weekend. Should these forecasts hold true, it will secure the position of the second-highest global debut in cinematic history, trailing only the formidable $1.222 billion benchmark established by “Avengers: Endgame.”

Russian audiences can expect to see “Brand New Day” via unofficial screenings no earlier than August 20, following the release of the family film “The Last Warrior: Kolobok.”
