The latest Marvel and Sony collaboration, Spider-Man: Brand New Day starring Tom Holland, has shattered expectations by delivering one of the most explosive debuts in cinematic history. The blockbuster raked in a staggering $927 million during its opening weekend, securing the title of the second-highest global launch of all time, trailing only Avengers: Endgame.

Of that total, $355 million was generated in North America, marking the region’s second-best opening ever, again surpassed only by Endgame. International markets contributed an additional $572 million, with China emerging as the top-performing overseas territory, accounting for $121 million of the haul.

This massive success was fueled by unprecedented pre-sale figures alongside glowing critical and audience reception. The film currently boasts a 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an “A” CinemaScore, and a perfect five-star rating in PostTrak exit polls.
