If you’ve been trying ahead to the potential of Doom getting some marketing campaign DLC quickly, you may want to sit down. It seems like that’s not the main target at id proper now, as there’s nothing to be introduced and it “isn’t on the table right now.”
Doom is on our checklist of one of the best FPS video games on PC – here’s everything else on that list.
This comes from Marty Stratton, one of many administrators on Doom, through an interview we’ve had with him at Quakecon. We requested him whether or not, given we and plenty of others are large followers of the single-player marketing campaign in Doom, we would we see some single-player DLC quickly?
“I can’t really talk too much about it, but campaign DLC for Doom isn’t on the table right now. We know you’re not the only one that feels that way, there’s a lot of us internally that feel the same way, so we know how important it is, and we want to make fans like you happy. So, as soon as we get down a path on something that we can talk about, we definitely will.”
So, whereas that doesn’t rule something out for the longer term, it seems like we received’t be seeing any marketing campaign DLC for the foreseeable future. The solely Doom content material we all know is coming is Doom VFR, arriving on PC December 1. The multiplayer DLC, however, has gone free, so there’s not less than loads of Doom to play now, even when it’s not a brand new marketing campaign.
