Slow Horses Renewed For Season 8 At Apple TV
Slow Horses remains a consistent show on streaming. While many acclaimed TV series take long breaks between seasons, this spy series has released at least one batch of episodes annually since 2022. Apple TV announced that Slow Horses will return for season 8 and production will begin soon.
The latest season will be based on the ninth and most recent book in Mick Herron’s Slough House series, Clown Town. The announcement follows Slow Horses’ latest Emmy win, where Saul Metzstein took Best Director for a Drama Series with season 5, episode 6, “Scars.” Season 6 returns Sept. 16, 2026, and runs through Oct. 21, 2026. Season 7, based on Herron’s Bad Actors, was announced last year.
Season 8 sees Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner face off in their most explosive confrontation yet, according to Apple TV’s summary. When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, Lamb must unravel one of MI5’s darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all.
What is Slow Horses about?
Apple TV provides the following description of the series:
Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House. Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes and who frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
Gary Oldman has received widespread acclaim for his performance as Lamb. Each of the show’s five seasons holds a Rotten Tomatoes score above 95 percent, and the last three seasons earned nominations for Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmys.

Apple TV recently expanded its catalog. Widow’s Bay won 14 Emmys, the most ever for a comedy series. The streamer also announced that Silo is coming back for its fourth and final season, which will air less than a year after the third season concluded. The platform’s catalog includes Pluribus, Severance, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and Pachinko.
