Skrillex is set to unveil “Contra,” an innovative creative platform launching in Berlin later this May.
While the project is designed to evolve into various formats, its inaugural presentation will take place as a two-day immersive experience at the iconic Kraftwerk Berlin on May 30–31. The star-studded lineup boasts over 70 experimental and electronic acts. Joining Skrillex on stage will be an array of collaborators, including Bladee, Ahadadream, Blawan, BNYX, Nai Barghouti (accompanied by Thys & Péter Somos), Ecco2k, and the duo Tohji x Mechatok.
Though not officially listed on the event poster, longtime musical partner Boys Noize sparked fan speculation about a potential surprise appearance after commenting “I wonder who ??? is” on the official event Instagram page.
Kraftwerk Berlin, a cavernous former power station, serves as the perfect backdrop for this event. According to organizers, the environmental design—curated by the Parisian studio Matiere Noire—will transform the venue’s industrial scale into intimate, sensory-rich spaces that blur the boundaries between sound and light. Matiere Noire is renowned for their previous scenographic work with high-profile fashion houses such as Chanel, Cartier, MM6, and Courrèges.
With the event just ten days away, fans are encouraged to secure their spots promptly. Tickets for the debut of Contra are currently available for purchase.
This launch is part of a busy season for Skrillex, whose upcoming tour dates include appearances at major festivals like Bonnaroo, Sziget, Dekmantel, Boomtown, and Austin City Limits. He is also slated to perform at “Head Trip,” a new boutique concept from Goldenvoice hosted at the Coachella grounds this October. That lineup features heavy hitters including Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, The Blessed Madonna, Dom Dolla, and Kettama.
