Olivia Rodrigo addressed her stance on artificial intelligence and her relationship status in her Wednesday (Oct. 7) cover story for The Hollywood Reporter.

The singer-songwriter stated that she would never use AI in any of her music, adding, Absolutely no. Hard line on that. She told the publication that the closest she ever came was when she and producer Dan Nigro wondered what ideas ChatGPT might have for an Olivia Rodrigo title.

When asked about the verdict, Rodrigo said that the ideas were all f–king awful.

AI remains a prominent topic in the music industry, with generative AI companies like Suno facing lawsuits and complaints from artists who argue that their models use unlicensed music for training. This context drew public attention in July when photos emerged of Rodrigo with a man reported to be a private equity associate at AI investment firm Hg Capital.

The Grammy winner emphasized to THR that she is single and does not have a boyfriend, while reflecting on the summer discourse surrounding her personal life. She stated that being stalked outside her home and having those pictures used as evidence that she is a bad person is the craziest thing, adding that she knows who she is and wishes she could experience life normally at age 23.

She also described the situation as difficult and sad because relationships should be private. She noted that casual dates frequently end up on the internet, where casual outings with men who are not her boyfriend prompt false claims of marriage.

Rodrigo previously spent two years in a relationship with Louis Partridge, who is believed to be the subject of the songs on her Billboard 200-topping third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The album features the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Drop Dead” and coincides with her Unraveled Tour, which launched in September following her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields charity festival.
