A limited theatrical run of the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice adaptation begins on September 4.

KADOKAWAanime published a clip from the anime series Sekiro: No Defeat, based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, on YouTube. The creators showcased the first meeting between the Wolf and Genichiro Ashina on the Silver Field.

The scene recreates the events of the FromSoftware game’s prologue, when the Wolf tries to take young Divine Heir Kuro away from Ashina Castle, but Genichiro blocks the heroes’ path. The clash ends with the loss of the Wolf’s left arm, which is later replaced by a prosthetic equipped with a grappling hook, a flamethrower, and other devices.

Sekiro: No Defeat adapts the story of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice into an anime series format. Actors from the game have returned to their roles, including Daisuke Namikawa as the Wolf, Miyuki Sato as Kuro, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro.

Studio Qzil.la is handling production. Kenichi Kutsuna is serving as director, Takuya Sato wrote the script, Takahiro Kishida designed the characters, and Takashi Mukoda is directing the action scenes.

The limited theatrical release of Sekiro: No Defeat in Japan starts on September 4, 2026. The anime will later appear on Crunchyroll, though a digital release date has not been announced yet.
