Sega is steadily expanding Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, turning the title into a living compendium of its most beloved franchises. The game has evolved from a straightforward arcade racer into a grand celebration of the company’s history.
The roster already includes characters drawn from various Sega properties — Hatsune Miku, Persona, and Like a Dragon. NiGHTS will be added for free in December, just in time for the holidays. A bespoke kart will accompany the character, bringing a little magic to the close of 2025. The only things still missing are a dedicated circuit and a signature soundtrack.
Sega revealed that AiAi from Super Monkey Ball will arrive in January, while Sonic-universe characters Tangle and Whisper are scheduled for February. All of these additions will be free.
For players who want more, a paid SpongeBob SquarePants Pack launches on November 19, 2025. It will feature SpongeBob and Patrick as playable racers, a new Bikini Bottom track, and music taken from the animated series.
